Do We Enjoy Sickness
Sickness can be a means of god s loving discipline.
Do we enjoy sickness. It is only a sickness when you derive pleasure from it and will consistently do it even when you know it is wrong. We can begin to believe that sickness is the result of a person s sin. We can choose to be miserable or we can choose to learn about ourselves and grow from the experience. Getting sick is rarely if ever fun for anyone but we all get sick.
So why does god allow this. You can cheat on your taxes but you can t cheat on sickness. This means everlasting life their taking in knowledge of you the only true god and of the one whom you sent forth jesus christ. And no matter what happens we can trust that god is good because that is his nature.
We are just human doing human things and hopefully learning from our mistakes. He created the human body and he is pleased when we enjoy health and vigor. Learning to not hurt those you love will be a lesson well learnt. But in this world our bodies endure sickness pain decay.
In sickness and in health in times of hurt and healing we have to remember to trust god. Make no mistake god is grieved when those he loves are suffering. We think that a good and loving god would not allow sickness and yet we know that sickness exists. He often shows his love and compassion for us through others who minister to us and care for us during times of sickness 2 corinthians 1 3 5.
While sickness is not directly addressed in the passage hebrews 12 5 11 describes god disciplining us to produce a harvest of righteousness verse 11. What you need to do jesus christ pointedly explained what we must do in order to enjoy a future world without sickness. Psalm 107 9 says for he satisfies the longing soul and the hungry soul he fills with good things. Sometimes we abuse our own bodies but often our ailments occur because well we don t always know why nor does god promise that we will understand why.
Lovesickness refers to an affliction that can produce negative feelings when deeply in love during the absence of a loved one or when love is unrequited. It has been considered a condition since the medieval ages and symptoms that have remained consistent across time include a loss of appetite and insomnia. Our society tends to regard as a sickness any mode of thought or behavior that is inconvenient for the system and this is plausible because when an individual doesn t fit into the system it causes pain to the individual as well as problems for the system.
